Tailrace Marina

Situated along the Catawba River, Tailrace Marina offers an array of services to make your boating experience more enjoyable. Their services include boat slip leasing and paddle board and kayak rentals. Their amenities include clean bathrooms and showers, picnic and grilling areas, and a fully stocked ship store that sells snacks, drinks, and merchandise.
 

Mountain Island Park Trail

The trailhead and parking area can be found beside Mountain Island Lake Dam, a Duke Power-owned hydroelectric dam. There are several fishing spots scattered throughout the trail where you can catch catfish and bass. Nearly the whole length of the trail is lined with trees, providing a cool haven in the spring and summer.
 

Downtown Mount Holly Historic District

The downtown area is peppered with cafés, shops, and restaurants. Enjoy a cup of coffee at Catawba Coffee Co. , have a juicy burger at Brightstar Drive-In, or try the craft beer at My Brother’s Bottle at the Picket Fence.
 

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church

The church was built in 1843 and is the oldest original Catholic Church in North Carolina. It was the fourth house of worship to be built in the entire state.
