For a sit-down night, Kindred remains the destination that draws people from outside Davidson entirely. It's a chef-driven restaurant run by Joe and Katy Kindred that's picked up multiple James Beard Foundation Best Chef Southeast nominations, the kind of reputation that makes it worth booking ahead on a night when half the town is already downtown. Flat Iron Kitchen + Taphouse, led by Chef Bill Schutz, sits closer to the Circles crowd and leans into a bigger-city approach to New American food without losing its Main Street footing.
After the music ends, Summit Coffee and The Cabin are where the crowd tends to drift, the two spots that show up again and again in any given week's rundown of what's happening around town. Neither requires reservations. Both fill up fast on a night like this one.
